The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen tells the epic love story of a mortal Man, Aragorn, and the immortal Half-elf, Arwen, daughter of Elrond. Aragorn, raised in Rivendell under the name Estel to hide his identity as Isildur’s heir, first saw Arwen when he was twenty. Mistaking her for the legendary Lúthien, he fell in love. Elrond warned Aragorn of the great doom ahead and that Arwen would marry no less than the King of Gondor and Arnor.
Years later, after many battles, Aragorn and Arwen reunited in Lothlórien and pledged their love. Aragorn would eventually claim the throne after the War of the Ring, and they were wed. The couple spent 120 blissful years together. When Aragorn felt death approaching, he consoled Arwen that beyond the circles of the world lay more than memory. After his passing, Arwen returned to Lórien, where she lived alone until her death on Cerin Amroth.
