Ulf the White, a dragonseed of Dragonstone, began as a man-at-arms before the Dance of the Dragons. When Prince Jacaerys Velaryon called for dragonriders in 129 AC, Ulf successfully mounted Silverwing. He fought alongside Hugh Hammer, Nettles, and Addam Velaryon in the Battle of the Gullet, where Jacaerys fell. Ulf later dubbed himself "Ulf White."
After King's Landing fell, Prince Daemon Targaryen suggested marrying Ulf to Lord Stokeworth's daughter, but Rhaenyra refused, instead knighting Ulf and granting him lands on Driftmark. Ulf became notorious for his drunken antics in Flea Bottom. In 130 AC, Ulf and Hugh Hammer were sent to defend Tumbleton but defected to the greens. Ulf was named Lord of Bitterbridge but desired Highgarden.
The Caltrops conspired to kill Ulf and Hugh. During the Second Battle of Tumbleton, Ulf survived, later declaring his intent to claim the Iron Throne. He was poisoned by Ser Hobert Hightower and died after drinking poisoned Arbor gold.
