Aegon Targaryen was born on Dragonstone in 27 BC to Lord Aerion Targaryen and Lady Valaena Velaryon. He married his sisters, Visenya and Rhaenys, following Valyrian tradition. Aegon claimed the dragon Balerion and was known for his solitary nature, with Orys Baratheon as his only close friend.

In 2 BC, Aegon began his conquest of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.
